I always quit to desktop and load my chosen save from the start menu. The biggest advantage of owning a house in Skyrim is the well-rested bonus of being able to rest and sleep somewhere safe and comfortable. I don't generally " reload " a game, ever. its confusing, it worked the one day but i did choose the wrong parts for my lakeview mansion (the wrong house parts) because i didn't know i only could choose i per section and i reloaded the game.
